Act 1: A Cold and Iron Faith is the first act in Diablo 4‘s campaign. In the latter half of this act, Neyrelle is determined to avenge her mother and do whatever it takes to help the Wanderer hunt down Lilith. Meanwhile, humans living in the Sanctuary are also preparing for the imminent war between the High Heavens and the Burning Hell.
Read ahead as we go through the second half of Act 1 of Diablo 4.

For this part of the act, the quests split between Light’s Guidance and Wayward, then they converge back in Crossing Over. You can do either one of the two quest lines first and then complete the other one to unlock the Crossing Over quest.
Light’s Guidance
Head back to the Cathedral of Light and talk to Iosef. He will tell you that Prava is over at Kor Valar, northeast of where you are.
Kor Valar
Make your way towards Kor Valar and you will meet up with Vigo first who is honoring all the lost soldiers. Head into the war room to talk to Prava. She will tell you to go on a pilgrimage first to prove your worth.

Pilgrimage
Go to the next marker southwest of Kor Valar and meet up with Vigo. Follow the marker to the Altar of Purity, read from the tablet and take the Idol of the Faithful. As soon as you take the idol, you will be cursed to have a limited view of the area and a slowed movement speed. Keep following the marker down south where you can deposit the idol.
After reading the tablet, take the idol once again and follow the marker southeast to the next altar. Read the next tablet, then take the idol again over to the next altar northeast of your location and read the tablet nearby. Bring the idol again one last time and head to the final altar to talk to Vigo.

Light’s Judgment
Head into the Alabaster Monastery and talk to Brother Orlin. Then, make it all the way up to the stairs and into the next room. You will then meet with Inarius himself, but he appears to not grant his blessing for your crossing over the black lake.

Light’s Protection
Go back to Kor Valar to meet up with Prava. Despite Inarius’ refusal, Prava grants you her blessing for the crossing.
Wayward
Make your way to Neyrelle over at the Mistral Woods. You won’t meet Neyrelle yet, but marker will lead you to the entrance of the Darkened Holt.

Shroud of the Horadrim
The path inside the Darkened Holt is a bit of a maze, but follow the one that leads up north and you will eventually find a portal and a bloodied wolf that will guide you. The wolf reveals that he was the same wolf that saved you from the mountains. You will reach another portal that leads to the place where Neyrelle is.
You will then have to make your way to the Horadric Vault. Examine the Three-Faced statue after defeating the phantoms that appear to exit the Darkened Holt.

Fledgling Scholar
Continue following the marker to reach the Horadric Vault. Go inside, talk to Neyrelle, then explore the other rooms until you find the Horadric Book. Bring the book back to Neyrelle and she will be able to open the door to the main room. Follow her through the rooms and you will find another sealed door that she can open. Explore the other rooms in the next area until you reach the Desecrated Archives.
Prepare for a fight as you will be facing against Tchort, Herald of Lilith. It’s an easy boss fight and you just need to pay attention to its bomb attacks and its dash attacks which are telegraphed. After the fight, you can then grab the book in the middle of the room and bring it back to Neyrelle.

Crossing Over
Make your way to the Path of the Firstborn to meet up with Neyrelle, then make your way back to the Black Lake. Neyrelle will then reanimate her mother’s corpse to get her help in crossing the lake.
Descent
You then have to make your way alone to the Balance Sanctum by going through the different sections and battling through hordes of demons. You will eventually reach the Serpent’s Passage where you will have to fight against Lilith’s Lament, the final boss of Act 1. After defeating it, you can then head into the Balance Sanctum where you will see Lilith’s blood petal. Interact with it to trigger a cutscene.

Light’s Resolve
Go back to the Mistral Woods and talk to Neyrelle. The act ends after the conversation and after Lorath’s commentary on the events so far.
