id Software has announced DOOM: The Dark Ages – Revelations, a new campaign expansion for its latest entry in the iconic shooter franchise. The DLC was unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase and is scheduled to launch on July 7, 2026.
Revelations continues the story of the Doom Slayer, placing players in what id Software describes as a merciless purgatory after the legendary warrior is wounded and betrayed. To escape, the Slayer must confront dark truths about his past while forging new strength alongside a mysterious ally.
The expansion introduces the Chain Spear, a new weapon designed to expand combat options with increased mobility and offensive capabilities. According to id Software, the weapon rewards skilled play and mastery, offering players new ways to approach encounters against Hell’s forces.
Alongside the new weapon, Revelations features additional campaign levels, new environmental puzzles, fresh enemy types, and previously unseen mysteries within the world of DOOM: The Dark Ages.
Coinciding with the DLC’s release is the Ripatorium 3.0 update, which will be available free to all existing players. The update adds expanded customization options, improved passcode generation tools, and the ability to save and load custom presets.
Players who own the Premium Edition, Collector’s Bundle, or the Digital Upgrade for DOOM: The Dark Ages will receive access to Revelations at no additional cost. The DLC will also be available separately for $19.99, while players can upgrade to the Premium Edition for $34.99.
DOOM: The Dark Ages is currently available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and PC. Revelations launches on July 7, 2026.
