A Veil of Gossamer Cloud is a quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2 where Sven asks for some help in identifying the intent behind the letter that his mother discarded. Read ahead as we go through the steps on how to complete the A Veil of Gossamer Cloud quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
How to unlock the A Veil of Gossamer Clouds quest
To unlock the A Veil of Gossamer Clouds quest, you must first complete Sven’s Masked Correspondence quest, then complete the Feast of Deception quest from Brant to get access to Battahl. Head to Sven’s chambers and talk to Sven to start the quest.
Investigate the letter
After talking to Sven, he will give you the Unfinished Letter to investigate the intent behind its writing.
Your next objective will take you to Battahl. Take an oxcart from Vernworth to Checkpoint Rest Town, then take another oxcart to Bakbattahl.
Once in Bakbattahl, head to the northeast area and follow the path that heads to the east until you see a bridge. Cross the bridge and head through the door on the other side to reach the Laboratorium of the Flamebearer Palace.
Go around the huge dragon statue
Go down the stairs and go around the huge dragon statue to witness a cutscene between two suspicious people inside a room. After they leave, head inside the room they were at and pick up the Letter to Lord Phaesus on the table.
Go back to Sven or Waldhar
After obtaining the letter, you can then travel back to Sven and show him the letter you found. This will then end the quest and reward you with 4,000 XP, 20,000 G, and a Ferrystone.
A different outcome with lesser rewards can be obtained for this quest by talking to Waldhar in The Gracious Hand’s Vault instead and have him investigate the letter. Waldhar will say that the letter is just a love letter, and reporting back to Sven with this information will reward you with just 4,000 XP, and 14,000 G.
