Recently, Capcom released a live-stream video on their official YouTube channel revealing their next major game franchise, Dragon’s Dogma 2. Not only was the announcement and release date of the game shown, but new information details such as the story, quests, and new jobs were revealed.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 Release Date Revealed
Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be released on March 22, 2024, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam). There are two digital editions that players can pre-order digitally. One is the standard edition and the other is the digital edition. Both editions have pre-order bonuses but in the case of the digital edition, players will receive the following add-ons:

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Story Info
This game depicts a world of classic fantasy where players will be traveling through this world where enlightened people have chosen to defeat dragons. In this world, there are two major kingdoms. One is Vermund which is a kingdom of people whose ruler is an enlightened person. However, the current ruler of the kingdom is a false-enlightened person appointed by Princess Disa and various plots surrounding the throne are swirling within Vermund.
The other kingdom is known as Batal, a country of Beastmen that has developed its own unique culture. Ancient ruins remain in the steep canyon area, and a city was built there. In this country, which was nurtured by harsh nature, the culture, customs, and beliefs seem to be different from those of Vermund. The region is a dramatic shift from the usual forests and valleys Dragon’s Dogma players are familiar with.
Aside from the two kingdoms opposed to each other, another race is active as well in the game and that is the Elves. They do not like to interact with other races and live deep in the forest in the secluded Sacred Tree Village.
New Illusionist Job in Dragon’s Dogma 2
In this new chapter of Dragon’s Dogma, players can take on various jobs that will be essential for adventures. Jobs such as fighters, mages, archers, thieves, warriors, and more can be found. Aside from that, a new job was shown in the gameplay video and that is the Illusionist.
Illusionist is only available to enlightened people and uses a special tool called a “furi incense burner” to smoke smoke and perform various illusions.
By summoning illusions, you can confuse the enemy, aim for self-destruction or counterattack, or draw out power that exceeds the limits of your pawns for a short period of time. Illusionists who use their strategies from the rear will enjoy a unique battle that focuses on support.
Character Customization
Creating one’s original character is important in games like Dragon’s Dogma. In this new chapter, players can create their character look. From humans to elves and even beastmen, the choices are endless. Depending on how players want their characters to look and act will influence the flow of the game.
