E3 2024 canceled as its organizer has now exited and the location was abandoned.
Reedpop, the owner of various events like EGX, PAX, and more, has officially announced that it will not work on future iterations of E3. It had previously partnered with the ESA to relaunch the show this year.
The ESA has also confirmed that the Los Angeles Convention Center will not be the location anymore for future E3 events. This has also confirmed the previous report stating that the LA City Tourism Department did not expect the event to come back to the location in the foreseeable future.
Next year will not have an E3 event, but it has been reported by GamesIndustry that the ESA is now looking to 2024 for a “complete reinvention” of the event.
“While the reach of E3 remains unmatched in our industry, we are continuing to explore how we can evolve it to best serve the video game industry and are evaluating every aspect of the event, from format to location,” ESA president and CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis said.
“We are committed to our role as a convenor for the industry and look forward to sharing news about E3 in the coming months.”
