Easy AFK Shiny Bounsweet Method Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Another AFK method of obtaining a shiny Pokémon, this time involving Bounsweet, has been shared by YouTuber すくると (@sukurutogames). This method tunes down the level of shiny hunting even more, allowing the players to basically sit and wait while letting their Pokémon do most of the searching.

In this guide, we will go through the steps on how to do the AFK Shiny Bounsweet method in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

How to do the AFK Shiny Bounsweet Method

If you are familiar with the previous method of getting Shiny Applins, it’s basically the same method, only done in a different part of Paldea. It appears that this method does not necessarily require at least two Ridemons acquired as long as you have a powerful enough Pokémon to go through all the Bounsweets.

It is required that you have at least farmed a couple of Herba Mysticas, specifically the Salty and Spicy kind in order to get the specific food buffs needed. Obtaining the Shiny Charm also helps speed up the process as well.

Step 1: Head to north of Los Platos

Specifically, head to the three trees slightly northwest of the town. Position yourself at the middle tree where you should see a Bounsweet hanging on one of its branches. Also, locate the patch of pink flowers nearby as this is the marker of where you should stand later on.

Step 2: Make a Lv.3 Sparkling and Encounter Power: Grass Sandwich

Create a sandwich using these ingredients:

  • x1 Lettuce
  • x1 Spicy Herba Mystica
  • x1 Salty Herba Mystica

Step 3: Have your Pokémon headbutt the tree

While riding your Ridemon, headbutt the tree to make the Bounsweet fall. Then, immediately return back to the pink flower patch.

Step 4: Have your other Pokémon do a Let’s Go attack

With your other Pokémon at the lead position, send it out via the Let’s Go function towards the tree.

Step 5: Wait

The Bounsweet should then respawn continuously while your Pokémon clears them out one by one as long as you have the buff. Since Let’s Go attacks does not allow Pokémon to attack shiny variants, you can keep the game going (just keep your Switch from sleeping) and let your Pokémon do the work. You’ll know that they’ve found a shiny once your Pokémon returns back to you, which should be your signal to check and save your game.

Be aware that if you move too near or too far from the tree, this may also cause your Pokémon to return back to you, so make sure to keep the right distance, otherwise just set the method up once again starting from Step 3.
