Elden Ring Director Miyazaki Hidetaka recently discussed details about how the game has multiple endings and how to achieve them.

Miyazaki recently talked with Japanese magazine Weekly Famitsu in an exclusive interview about the upcoming game, its mechanics, storytelling, and more. He was particular with the endings that players could unlock in the game.

According to the game director, players do not need to follow the guidance that the game offers. This just meant that it has multiple endings and players are free to choose how to achieve them. There are multiple paths to follow and they are not obliged to follow each one. Game progression is particularly free compared to the Dark Souls series.

Aside from that, Miyazaki also talked about the boss battles. He specified that there are only a few of these boss that are necessary to defeat and the order is up to the player as well.

Elden Ring launches on January 21, 2022 for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
