Far Cry 6 is now available for purchase on various platforms and a lot of fans are enjoying its content. For the newcomers, you will be facing first a few quests before you can step on the mainland Yara.
One of the introductory missions is the Du or Die mission, which has a locked door where it has a weapon chest that will reward you with a very unique weapon. Here is how you can open the Far Cry 6 Du or Die locked door in order to claim the Yaran Contraband chest.
Fort Quito Key Location in Far Cry 6
In this mission, you are required to open a door in Fort Quito so that you can find the depleted uranium for Juan. Also in this is another locked door where inside is a chest with the prize you are looking for, the unique weapon. So, the first order of business is to open that first door. Where is the key then?
The armory key can be found somewhere in a room in the southwest corner inside the fort. You can easily recognize the key as it is just a small keycard with a blue lanyard, and it is on the table just by the lamp. The rest of the keycards that can be found in Far Cry 6 will look like this so better burn the design into your memory.
After obtaining the “Armory Key”, you can now go back to the courtyard and go through the metal door, which is the door of Armory by the way.
You will find there the depleted uranium inside a container. You can now complete the mission if you want by delivering this package back to Juan, but you can also try to find the hidden weapon chest that is somewhere underground. Now to find that second locked door.
How to unlock the Yaran Contraband Chest
This one needs a bit of work though since it is a bit of a puzzle that needs solving. The first thing that you will notice is the Yaran Contraband icon on the map while you were exploring the fort. This is located somewhere on the eastern side of the fort.
Go there and take a ladder down to the underground area where you will find the locked door. Behind it are the chest and the prize. Now how do you unlock this?
Actually, you cannot open this door. You will have to walk around the right side of the fence in order to get inside.
You will find a large wooden board that is leaning against it, which is hiding a rather obvious small hole where you can slip inside. Break it by shooting it with your gun or use a machete a few times to break it. Now we have an entrance to the inside.
Crawl inside the hole and look for the Yaran Contraband weapon chest. Open it and you will be rewarded with the unique pistol called The Autocrat.
The Autocrat – What’s So Special About It?
The Autocrat is quite strong as it comes with armor-piercing rounds, which can damage armored soldiers. More of these Yaran Contraband chests can be found on the main island, so be on the lookout.
Congratulations! You now have an early unique and powerful sidearm to use while you go exploring Yara.
