Final Fantasy XIV Devs Apologizes for Housing Lottery System Issue

Team is currently investigating and further lotteries are on full stop.

Square Enix has offered an apology to the fans of Final Fantasy XIV with the ongoing issues of preventing players from winning any land in the new housing lottery system.

Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida was the one to apologize for the recent hiccup with the new housing lottery system. The issue has made it impossible for players to win any land for some reason and the team is now looking into it Yoshida on the lead.

In a recent post on FFXIV’s official website, Yoshida has outlined what his team was currently doing in order to fix this recent issue. The problem starts with the players being told that their bids for unsuccessful due to no participants in the lottery, which was false since they have made bids. There was even a time where the winning number was 0, which was impossible since no player got assigned to the number.

“Firstly, we understand that this is a major issue, and are prioritizing our investigation into the matter,” Yoshida said. “We are working to identify the issue in the corresponding program; however, as the process is very complex and there are many patterns involved for the lottery conditions, it will require some time to pinpoint the problem.

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but we ask for your patience a little while longer as focus our efforts on the investigation.”

Now, the result announcement period has been changed to an unspecified time until they finally find the problem and fix it. The team has also promised there will be no more lotteries for now until the investigation is complete and the situation has been addressed.

Final Fantasy XIV is now available on PC, PS4, and PS5. Update 6.1 is now available on all platforms.
