Forspoken has already been rated by the ESRB and has some interesting details hinting about the game’s content.
Formerly known as Project Athia, Forspoken has now been rated Mature by the ESRB ahead of its release. It is now official rated M for mature audiences. The game does have strong language and tons of violence present in the game, which are both the obvious major reasons for this rating.
Based on the previous videos, Forspoken has a lot of violence especially in combat. Fighting against them and killing them results in limbs flying, blood spilling, and something erasing them from existence. The rating summary says the battles involve cries of pain, killing and screen-shaking. There are monsters killing civilians, characters held at gunpoint, cussing words from people, and more.
The most surprising detail that was revealed by the ESRB rating was not the rating itself but its note on the below left part of the section. It says it has in-game purchases, which means it could either be microtransactions or several DLCs. Most RPGs offer in-game purchases, but this is quite new for Forspoken.
Forspoken launches on May 24, 2022. It will be available on PS5 and PC.
