Fortnite Adopts ‘Battle Royale’ Mode

Bluehole’s PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (PUBG) became a huge early access success; and it’s no doubt that there will be others to follow – which is true for Epic Games. Their co-op sandbox title Fortnite is going to have a Battle Royale mode.

The mode will be officially available on September 26. With their announcement video and post, Epic Games has a lot of respect to games like H1Z1 and PUBG that pioneered the genre. The gameplay mechanics look fairly similar to PUBG, however, there are quirks and tricks too. Players are able to place traps and build their own small shelter for cover – or simply hide. It’s going to be interesting to see how this goes for Fortnite.

The Public Test servers should be available for Fortnite owners right now.

Just to add in a little note, Fortnite‘s price is currently 25% off (both Standard and Deluxe Edition Founder Packs) to entice players to get the game as early as now before the new mode is added.

Fortnite is expected to be a free-to-play title when it launches, and currently available as a ‘paid’ early access title on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
