Fortnite to Hold Tournament despite Rising Conflict with Apple

Even after Epic Games and Apple are suing each other, the former was bold enough to hold a one-day-only Fortnite tournament with rewards that kind of provokes the latter company.

    Fortnite

The tournament is called #FreeFortnite Cup (aptly named), and any and all players of the popular free-to-play battle royale could join. In order to join the fun, they can just start the game on any platform and queue up in the #FreeFortnite Cup Playlist. They better hurry though because it will only last for four hours on Aug. 23. No specific time was shared by Epic Games.

Players will have to compete in 12 matches in the tournament and can only do this in solo mode. The best part of this tournament is that the champion will not be the only one who gets the winnings because everyone else gets their share. Check out the scoring:

    • Active Time – 1 point for every 3 minutes on the BR island.
    • Eliminations – 1 point per Elim
    • Victory Royale – 10 points for each Victory Royale

For players who will participate in the #FreeFortnite Cup, they will get some cool prizes. Across all regions with 10 points, they can get the Tart Tycoon Outfit and top scoring players across regions (20,000 globally) will get the #FreeFortnite adjustable hat, an in-real-life physical hat that Epic Games will be shipping to their homes.

Epic Games is also giving away 1,200 pieces of gaming hardware like phones, consoles, and PCs. Check out these cool prizes:

    • Alienware Gaming Laptop®
    • Samsung Galaxy Tab S7®
    • OnePlus 8 – 90FPS on a phone
    • PlayStation 4 Pro®
    • Xbox One X®
    • Nintendo Switch®

Better enter now to win these awesome prizes.
