Guilty Gear Strive Crossplay (Explained)

An overview on Guilty Gear Strive's cross-play support

Guilty Gear Strive Crossplay (Explained)

Following the 1.24 release, Guilty Gear Strive has been consistently impressive, and developer Arc System has made a number of enhancements, providing players a pleasant thrill with the new and improved crossplay feature.

Considering the game’s inclusion on Xbox Game Pass as of March 7, 2023, players are likely to be curious about whether or not they can compete against their friends on other platforms. And if you’re wondering how the Guilty Gear Strive crossplay and cross-progression work, we’ve got you covered.

Is Guilty Gear Strive Crossplay?

Yes, Guilty Gear Strive now has full Cross-play support across PC, PlayStation (PS5, PS4), and Xbox (Series X/S) platforms. In other words, you can play with friends regardless of whether they use a PS, Xbox, or PC.

Cross-gen play between the PS4 and PS5 was already present, and the game’s release on Xbox Game Pass, the Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox One, and Windows PC added even more platforms. Of course, if you don’t think crossplay is balanced, you can always choose to turn it On or Off anytime in your settings.

In case you missed it, online multiplayer was available during the network open beta test for gamers on PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows. The inclusion of Crossplay is a thoughtful move that will keep players engaged for months to come. However, over the past few years, GG Strive has fallen a little short of the mark set by other fighting games like Multiversus. Shortcomings like the need for possible future updates.

As for Cross-Progression, let’s hope everything works out as expected. It would be frustrating to have paid for a favorite DLC character but be unable to use them if you decided to switch platforms.
