Sony Interactive Entertainment Confirms Haptic Feedback Can Be Adjusted or Turned Off

Game company Sony Interactive Entertainment officially confirmed that players can make adjustments to the DualSense’s haptic feedback.

SIE recently shared a new blog post concerning accessibility for their diverse community of players, developers, employees, and experts. They wanted to reveal the features everyone could enjoy and this includes the DualSense controller

Also recently, in our recent interview with Treyarch in regards to upcoming video game Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, this particular feature was confirmed by one of the developers. SIE has now made it more official.

SIE confirmed that players can actually lessen or even disable haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on the DualSense controllers for the PlayStation 5. Here is the actual statement:

In addition, PS5 players will be able to reduce or disable the force of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on the DualSense wireless controller. PS5 will also include improved audio enhancements to provide players with better spatial awareness.

This can become handy for players who are already too familiar with the previous controllers and do not want that much “realistic” feedback from the controllers. Also it could reduce the battery drain when playing a game.

PlayStation 5 is launching on November 12 in the US, Japan, and select few countries. The rest of the world will get it on November 19.
