    Hogwarts Legacy Cache in the Castle side quest walkthrough

    Cache in the Castle is one of the side quests that players can complete in Hogwarts Legacy. In this side quest, Arthur Plummly found some maps that seem to be pointing towards some secrets in the castle and he needs some help discover where they lead to.

    Read ahead as we go through the steps on how to complete the Cache in the Castle side quest in Hogwarts Legacy.

    How to unlock Cache in the Castle side quest

    To unlock the Cache in the Castle side quest, you must first reach level 4 and complete the Welcome to Hogsmeade main quest.

    Cache in the Castle objectives:

    • Talk to Arthur Plummly
    • Find the first landmark from Arthur’s Treasure Map
    • Find the second landmark from Arthur’s Treasure Map
    • Find the third landmark from Arthur’s Treasure Map
    • Find the painting from Arthur’s Treasure Map
    • Discover the painting’s secret
    • Return to Arthur Plummly

    Cache in the Castle side quest Walkthrough

    After the player reaches level 4 and completed the Welcome to Hogsmeade main quest, Arthur Plummly will then be available to talk to in Professor Fig’s Classroom in the Astronomy Wing. Talk to Arthur to start the side quest.

    After talking to Arthur, he will give you a map with landmarks pictured on them.

    Find the first landmark from Arthur’s Treasure Map

    To get to the first landmark, head downstairs from where you met Arthur and you’ll eventually see the rhinoceros skeleton pictured on the map.

    Find the second landmark from Arthur’s Treasure Map

    To get to the second landmark, head down the stairs from the rhinoceros skeleton and exit through the door. Go to the fountain in the middle of the Transfiguration Courtyard as shown in the map.

    Find the third landmark from Arthur’s Treasure Map

    To get to the third landmark, follow marker into the North Hall and climb up its stairwell to the right.

    Find the painting from Arthur’s Treasure Map

    As you make your way up the stairwell, you’ll eventually see the painting shown on the map.

    Discover the painting’s secret

    Cast Accio on the top part of the painting’s frame to make the painting zoom in to the house and reveal the secret door. Go inside the door and open the chest to get the Authentic Historian’s Uniform.

    Return to Arthur Plummly

    Go back to Arthur Plummly and report to him where your map led you to to complete the quest.

    Hogwarts Legacy Cache in the Castle Rewards

    You’ll receive the following for completing the side quest:

    • 180 XP
