In the Shadow of the Bloodline is a side quest in Sebastian Sallow’s relationship quests in Hogwarts Legacy. It is also the first one in a questline that deals with the Dark Arts. Sebastian is seen arguing with Ominis in the Great Hall and this argument is just the players’ doorway into learning the forbidden knowledge of the Dark Arts.

How to unlock In the Shadow of the Bloodline Relationship Quest
To unlock the In the Shadow of the Bloodline relationship quest, you must for complete both the In the Shadow of the Undercroft and In the Shadow of the Estate main quests. Completing this quest will trigger the first event with Sebastian and Ominis.
In the Shadow of the Bloodline relationship quest Walkthrough
After completing the required quests, visit Sebastian over at the Great Hall. You’ll then see Sebastian and Ominis arguing over at the side of the hall. Sebastian insists to learn more about about Salazar Slytherin’s scriptorium to find a cure for Anne, but Ominis rejects the idea since it also means that they’ll have to deal with the Dark Arts.
After watching the argument, talk to Sebastian and go through the dialogues with him. You can choose any dialogue response at this point. After Sebastian stops speaking with you, the quest is considered as completed despite not showing any confirmation about it.
