A new report has revealed that Hogwarts Legacy sales have now surpassed the popular video game Elden Ring sales in the UK.
According to media outlet GamesIndustry.biz, Hogwarts Legacy just took five weeks to outsell last year’s most popular video game Elden Ring, which sold over 20 million copies since its launch in February 2022. Hogwarts Legacy now sits in the top 1 spot with other titles following it. The sales cover both digital and physical copies to clarify.
Last year, Elden Ring was only surpassed by a few titles like FIFA 23, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, GTA 5, and LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga by the end of 2022. It was also confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy will outsell LEGO Star Wars by the time the digital data arrives later this week.
Sales of Hogwarts Legacy might even rise even further since the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions are coming later this year. It could sell a lot and might even surpass the sales of Call of Duty based on the feedback from the recent versions.
Various new titles have now dropped from the charts like Wo Long Fallen Dynasty which is now on no. 33 from no. 8 with a 73 percent sales drop. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe is now at no. 11 with a 38 percent drop, Octopath Traveler 2 is at no. 21 after a 49 percent drop, and Atomic Heart is at no. 38 with a drop of 43 percent of sales.
