Guerilla Games recently revealed that the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC will be bringing back a tribe that was introduced in the base game.

According to the latest PlayStation Blog post, Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC will feature an expanded look at one of the tribes from the base game. This particular tribe is the Quen, a sea-fairing people from the Pacific Ocean who have now made their new home in the ruins of Los Angeles. Aloy encounters them in the base game while searching for a fragment of the terraforming GAIA program and was shocked that they are able to use the holographic focus like her.

With the Focus, the Quen was able to found a powerful empire and protect the rest of the Focuses that they had in their possession and they would kill anyone who would touch them. Unfortunately, these Focuses have limited access to the old world’s history which resulted in the tribe’s limited view of the world. They made a religion that centered on 21st-century CEOs and business tycoons. Aloy became friends with the Diviner Alva who helped her on the rest of her journey and also encountered the tribe while exploring Ted Faro’s Tomb.

In the Burning Shores DLC, Aloy will encounter the tribe in the new establishment the Quen has built. She will meet with some interesting new characters like Admiral Gerrit. He is the leader of this group of Quen that arrived in Los Angeles. She also meets her new companion, Seyka, a Quen that accompanies her during her travels.

Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores is now available to pre-order on PS5 and will be released on April 19, 2023.
