Guerilla Games just casually confirmed Horizon Trilogy in a recent company update.
Guerilla Games recently made a new management update where its Studio Director and Executive Producer Angie Smets has been appointed to a new role at PlayStation Studios. She is now the head of the development strategy.
The studio will now have three heads that will handle the current and upcoming projects, which are Joel Eschler, Hella Schmidt, and Jan-Bart van Beek. Guerilla then shared a statement talking about their new roles within the company.
“We have full confidence in our new leadership as they steer Guerrilla towards a bright future, expanding the world of Horizon with Aloy’s next adventure and our exciting online project.”
This statement just confirmed that a new entry to the Horizon Trilogy is happening. It does not, however, give us hints on a possible release window for it.
After the launch of the new expansion Burning Shores DLC, this new announcement just confirmed the little teaser that was mentioned there. It is not that obvious, but it does give fans hope that a sequel is coming. Now, it is officially confirmed by the studio.
