How to Beat Tropic Woods in Kirby and the Forgotten Land
To Beat Tropic Woods in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, you have to win against Tropic Woods’ fights which happens in two phases. He goes into his second phase once his health reaches <50%.
How to beat Tropic Woods Phase 1
Tropic Woods will be doing his breath and coconut attacks.
- Coconut Drop – Tropic Woods will drop huge coconuts from above that linger on the ground. Pay attention to the shadows; when a coconut drops, its shadow will look like it will come from him. Simply dodge out of the way to avoid getting hit.
- Strong Puff – He will puff out a gust of air straight towards a direction. As he breathes in to prepare for the attack, stay away from his mouth. You can use his puffing cheeks to time your jump and avoid the gusts.
How to beat Tropic Woods Phase 2
Some of Tropic Woods’ attacks will be upgraded in phase 2.
- Wall of Puff – An upgraded Strong Puff where he breathes out gusts of air as he moves his face from side to side. Time your jump as the gusts move toward you to clear them out.
- Fence – He will put up a fence near his trunk to protect him from any attacks. The ground will rumble at the side where a fence will spring up. Reposition as soon as you see the rumbling.
- Root Attack – He will shoot roots from the ground forwards and toward your direction. Use your dodge or move towards the side away from the roots’ path. The roots will only deal damage as they are moving and not once they are out. You can destroy these roots to fulfill one of the optional missions.
Optional Missions for The Tropical Terror
- Destroy Tropic Woods’ roots
- Clear without using a Copy Ability
- Clear within 2:00
- Clear without taking any damage
Tropic Woods Boss Fight Tips
- It is recommended to use the Fire ability for its burn effect. The burn lingers for a couple of seconds which deal tick damage, even if Tropic Woods has his fence up.
- To fulfill the No Copy Ability challenge, you can use the stars that drop from coconuts when they explode, or from gusts of air as they fly through and leave a trail of stars. Just suck them up and blow them out towards Tropic Woods to deal damage.
- Destroy the roots once they stop moving to clear out any obstacles in the arena.
- Every optional mission for this fight can be done in one run, provided that you have practiced enough. If not, it’s best to do the No Hit challenge on a separate attempt.
