A Prince in Disguise is the second quest that players need to complete as they progress through the Beauty and the Beast Realm in Disney Dreamlight Valley. The quest revolves around tackling the Beast’s insecurities, and you need to help him in various ways to make up for the misunderstandings and blunders with Belle.

How to Start A Prince In Disguise Quest
A Prince In Disguise quest will automatically start after you unlock the Beauty and the Beast realm and complete the first quest called “Into The West Wing“. As stated above, the quest revolves around the Beast, who’s also responsible for giving out objectives to progress through the quest.
A Prince In Disguise Quest complete walkthrough
Start the first objective by talking to the beast. Then, he’ll ask for your help in finding the three key pieces to a locked chest containing the Enchanted Mirror, which will help him show and determine the perfect gift for Belle. Each key piece is hidden behind a riddle; to obtain them, you must solve the riddles and go to all specific locations.
Where to find all 3 key pieces
The solutions to the three riddles that will lead you to the locations of the key pieces are as follows:
- Key Piece #1 (Hidden in a hot place): This key piece is hidden in the fireplace inside the library. Then, equip your Royal Watering Can and use it on the fire to spawn the key piece.
- Key Piece #2 (Hidden in a place where silence roars): This key piece is stuck on the chest of the lion statue (the one on the left) located by the main entrance to the West Wing. Once there, equip your Royal Pick Axe and use it to destroy the statue, then pick up the key piece afterwards.
- Key Piece #3 (Hidden in a thorny place): This key piece is hidden under a glowing mound located in the castle garden. When you get there, go to the middle, by the pole where the roses are planted, and then dig up the mound using your Royal Shovel to get the key piece.
Return to the Beast after gathering all the key pieces. Following the conversation, use the complete key that the Beast gave you to open the locked chest near the Enchanted Rose, get the Enchanted Mirror inside it, and then give it back to the Beast.
How to Make a Book Kit for Belle
Based on what you and the Beast saw in the Enchanted Mirror, you decide to make her a Book Kit as a gift. From here, you will have to go back to Dreamlight Valley and get the materials you’ll need.
Here’s where to get the Dreamlight Valley materials needed to make a Book Kit for Belle:
- 20x Fiber – Can be crafted using Seaweed. 1 Seaweed is equivalent to 5 Fibers.
- 3x Purpler Falling Penstemon – A flower that grows anywhere within the Plaza.
- 1x Empty Vial – can be crafted using Glass. 1 empty vial requires 3 Glass to make.
- 1x Feather – The Villager you need to ask for a Feather is Scrooge, who can usually be found inside his store.
Once you’ve gathered all the materials needed, you can now make the Book Kit at any crafting station (listed under the Functional Items tab of the crafting menu). Once done, return to the realm and give the Book Kit to The Beast.
Where to find Grooming Items for The Beast
With the perfect gift prepared, help The Beast find 3 grooming items (Beast’s Brush, Princely Cologne, Princely Shampoo) to tidy up his looks before giving the Book Kit to Belle. Fortunately, these items don’t require you to solve any riddles just to get them and can easily be found within the West Wing area.
The grooming items for The Beast can be found in the following places:
- Beast’s Brush Location: It can be found inside a vintage storage chest behind the door of the West Wing’s main entrance.
- Princely Cologne Location: can be found on the small round table next to The Beast.
- Princely Shampoo Location: It can be found on the small round table behind the shower screen, next to the bathtub.
Now, return to The Beast and give him the grooming items that you’ve found. Following this, have him practice his apology towards Belle. After that, go with the Beast into the garden, where you can listen to his apology to Belle.
How to unlock Belle and Beast and complete the “A Prince In Disguise” Quest
After the Beast gives his apology along with a gift, talk to Belle once more. Then, go back to Dreamlight Valley and place the Beast’s Castle anywhere you want to. Building the Beast’s Castle will cost 20,000 Star Coins, and it will automatically bring Belle into the village once the construction is complete.
As you may have noticed, Beast is still missing. To bring him into the valley, take the note from Belle and give it to Beast. This way, you’ll convince him to leave the realm.
