Boss Up in Disney Dreamlight Valley is the third friendship quest for Vanellope, where you play a game and battle it out with the villain characters in the valley, acting like it’s some kind of boss fight.
The quest has you and Vanellope prepare some potions and lure traps before each boss battle, and you’ll have to search for the special equipment in order to defeat the final boss. Read ahead as we go through the objectives and some tips on how to complete the Boss Up quest for Vanellope in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Disney Dreamlight Valley “Boss Up” quest requirements
In order to unlock the “Boss Up” quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you must reach friendship level of 4 with Vanellope while also having unlocked Scar, Ursula, Mother Gothel, and the Forest of Valor Biome.
How to complete “Boss Up” in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Start the quest by talking to Vanellope, and she’ll ask you to prepare three Boba Tea recipes that will act as your potions for the upcoming boss fight.
Make 3 Boba Tea Potions for the Upcoming Battle
Listed below are all the ingredients you’ll need to make all the required Boba Tea recipes:
- Coconut Boba Tea – Sugarcane, Milk, Coconut
- Mint Boba Tea – Sugarcane – Milk, Mint
- Raspberry Boba Tea – Sugarcane, Milk, Raspberry
After gathering all the necessary ingredients, head over to a cooking station and use it. Once you’re in the Cooking menu, open the recipe book in the top left corner of the screen, then select the quest tab below the cookie icon (Desserts) and Autofill the required recipes.
After cooking all the recipes, return to Vanellope for the next objective.
Ursula Boss Fight
After your conversation with Vanellope, head over to Ursula’s house and speak with her inside. From here on out, the dialogues for each villain will change depending on the choices you make; we suggest you pick the ones you think would be the most entertaining for a battle.
Afterwards, regroup and talk to Vanellope after your inevitable defeat over Ursula, then carry on with your plan. This time, you’ll have to find and obtain a mystical sword in the Forest of Valor to prepare for the final boss fight while Vanellope battles the Witch in the Tree, who turns out to be Mother Gothel.
Where to get the Mystical Sword in the Forest of Valor
The Mystical Sword is located in the far left corner of the Forest of Valor, near the pillar (if you haven’t moved it yet). Once you find it, pull out your magical shovel to unearth the sword in the stump, pick up the clothing bag it drops, and then open it from your inventory to get a back item called “Pixel Sword & Shield.” Equip the item from your wardrobe to proceed with the next objective.
Vanellope and Mother Gothel Boss Fight
With your pixel sword and shield equipped, go and check on Vanellope’s so-called “battle” with Mother Gothel. Simply wait for their conversation to finish and speak to Vanellope again. From here, you’ll have to make some preparations to lure Scar into his lair and proceed with the final boss fight.
Craft a Scar Lure
To make Scar instinctively go into his lair, you have to craft a trap called “Scar Lure”, and the materials needed to make this item are as follows:
- 1 Kingfish – Catch this fish from Blue Nodes on Dazzle Beach between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- 3 Herring – Catch this fish from White Nodes on Dazzle Beach and Glade of Trust. Can be fished anytime during the day.
- 30 Softwood – Can be purchased from Kristoff’s Stall. Can also be obtained from removing Tree Stumps or by picking them up on the ground, which are usually dropped from trees in different biomes.
- 30 Fiber – Can be crafted using Seaweed or purchased from Kristoff’s Stall.
After gathering all the materials needed, make the Scar Lure using a crafting station. This can be found under the Furniture Tab in the Crafting Menu.
Scar Final Boss Fight
After crafting the Scar Lure, place it near Scar’s Cave and speak with Vanellope by the cave’s entrance. After the conversation, you’ll automatically be sent inside the cave, where you’ll be facing off with Scar as the Final Boss.
After you’ve inevitably defeated Scar, talk to Vanellope, then pick up the shiny candy on the floor inside Scar’s cave and open it to reveal a map. Speak to Vanellope once more to complete the Boss Up quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
