Crews are powerups in Disney Speedstorm that provide additional stat bonuses when applied to a racer. There are different kinds and tiers of crews, and higher tiers often provide more bonuses. Crews are usually composed of shards, and in order to obtain a crew member, players will have to gather enough crew shards to unlock them.
Read ahead as we go through the different ways of unlocking crews in Disney Speedstorm.
How to obtain Crew Shards in Disney Speedstorm
Crew Shards can be obtained in several different ways, such as in:
- Universal Boxes: Costs 10,000 Season Coins per pull; has a chance to give 1-3 shards of a random crew from a large loot pool.
- Crew Packs: Costs 19,500 Season Coins; gives 5 shards of the showcased crew.
- Daily Specials: Costs 10,000 Season Coins; gives 2 shards of the showcased crew and it rotates every day.
- Season Boxes: Costs 1 to 3 Purple Season Coins per pull; has a chance to get 2 to 10 shards of a random crew from the showcased collection.
Unlocking Crews
Once a certain amount of shards for a crew has been collected, the crew member will then be unlocked and can be slotted into a racer.
- Common – Requires x5 shards.
- Rare – Requires x5 shards.
- Epic – Requires x10 shards.
Once unlocked, crews can be shared between different racers in the same collection and can be equipped by more than one racer simultaneously.
Upgrading Crews
Crews can be upgraded to a higher “star” by obtaining more shards of it. Each upgrade enhances the amount of the bonus/es that they provide.
- 2 stars: +10 shards
- 3 stars: +15 shards
- 4 stars: +20 shards
- 5 stars: +25 shards
Every upgrade increases the bonuses that a crew provides. Not all crews within the same tier provide the same kinds of bonuses.

Equipping Crews
Crews can only be equipped or slotted into racers that belong in the same Collection that they belong to. Racers will only be able to equip one crew member at a time while being a 1-star or a 2-star racer. More slots will become available as their star level goes up.
- 2 slots: 3 stars
- 3 slots: 4 stars
- 4 slots: 5 stars
On the other hand, Epic Crews can only be equipped on to particular racers in the same Collection as they often provide specific bonuses that power up the racer’s unique skill.
