Kojima Productions Stays Independent Says Hideo Kojima

Studio Boss Hideo Kojima has finally come out to confirm that despite the rumors, Kojima Productions will stay independent and will not be bought.

Kojima Productions Rumor Made Everyone Ballistic

There were some rumors about the studio getting hitched by a big gaming company recently (hint: PS) and everyone was panicking. This actually started when the official Twitter account of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s header got changed and it included an image related to Death Stranding. It caused quite a frenzy since there are a lot of Kojima “followers” and this was big news.

Good thing this was all fake and big boss Kojima had to tell it straight to everyone.

    Studio Stays Independent

After a few hours since the frenzy, as if to tease everyone, Kojima shared the same header image on his personal Twitter account both on the Japanese and English versions. The caption had a different thing to say though.

“I’m sorry for the misunderstanding, but KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS has been and will continue to be an independent studio,” said boss Kojima.

And that is from the man himself. The studio will remain independent and has not entered into some partnership deal or something. All the rumors about Microsoft and SIE trying to win his hand is all fake. Time to move on.

Kojima did say that he was working on a new project and that was still in January. No word on that yet.
