Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, also known as Ryu Ga Gotoku 8 for the Japanese audience, just revealed two fan-favorite weather casters as part of the growing number of characters that players can meet in the game.
Weathernews LiVE’s Saya Hiyama and Yui Komaki are revealed to be the voices behind two of DonDoko Island’s staff, Saya and Yui, respectively. These two new characters have been seen in an earlier feature video of the DonDoko Island resort, but only recently was it revealed that they are also playing as the voice actresses modeled after their own likeness.
Saya Hiyama became a viral sensation after she was seen instantly switching from cheerfully talking about drama and anime to seriously reporting a recent earthquake. After this, Saya, Yui, and the rest of the WNL casters have garnered a lot of fans because of their professionalism and wholesomeness, amongst other things.
The Yakuza and Like a Dragon games have long been known to add in cameos of and references to famous individuals and influencers. Some of the most recent ones are the winners of their cabaret girls competition for Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name that included adult actress Ai Sayama, gravure idol Ai Kaname, and V-tuber kson; kson, being the grand prix winner, will also be appearing in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is set to be released on January 26, 2024 worldwide.
