Smilegate RPG has recently revealed that the upcoming character Lost Ark Artist will have her outfit censored.
Lost Ark Artist Part of Roadmap 2023
The developers recently revealed Lost Ark’s 2023 Roadmap Part 1 showcasing the various content that will be introduced by month. One of the months that got featured was April 2023, which will introduce a new Advanced Class called Artist.
Who is the Artist?
The Artist is a young woman who can use illusion powers with her weapon, a huge brush. Her specialty is more on support. She can use her magical brush and flowing ink to attack enemies directly or summon holy beasts by painting them. Her offensive power is low but her support is quite effective which allows her to buff them and rescue them from danger with her illusion powers.
Censorship for Short Skirt
Aside from the character details of the Lost Ark Artist, it was revealed that her outfit will be modified. It was stated that the Western gaming community was worried about her look when she arrives in the West and it seems there will be changes. Smilegate RPG will be making localization updates “to ensure the game feels approachable and representative of our Western players.” They made sure that there will be NO gameplay-related changes.
The developers specified the Lost Ark Artist’s skins with short skirts will have shorts added underneath the skirt and other skins will have adjusted pant lengths or tights added. They will make sure that the original spirit of the skins will be preserved when applying the changes.
