Marathon has now gained new help from a former lead multiplayer designer on Halo Infinite. He will now join Bungie to work on this new project.
Marathon Gets New Help
Former Halo Infinite Lead Multiplayer Designer Andrew Witts is the one joining Bungie to help out on the development of the new project Marathon. He revealed on his personal Twitter account that he will be joining the team as the gameplay designer director. It was last week that he joined the team.
Witts commented that the team was “so welcoming and kind” to him when he joined. “I am thrilled to work with this brilliant and incredibly talented team,” he said.
History with Multiplayer Development
Witts has a great history in terms of designing multiplayer modes and even worked on Epic games for a year to help out on Fortnite. He also worked for two years at Ubisoft for the video game Rainbow Six Siege. When he worked at 343 Industries for Halo Infinite, he was the one to work on the multiplayer design of the game’s modes and systems. This led to the creation of free-to-play multiplayer that everyone enjoys today.
What is Marathon All About?
Bungie described Marathon as a cross-platform PvP extraction shooter and will be set in a fictional universe it has created. It is said to be a ‘90s sci-fi trilogy. No release date yet, but it has been confirmed to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S and will have cross-save between them.
