He has set up several of his Mysteriums all across the city, which appear to cause trouble for civilians who get too curious about what they are for and trap them inside the illusion machines.

Read ahead as we go through each of Mysterio’s Mysterium in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and share tips on how to complete them easily.

Mysteriums are challenges that Mysterio has set up in different parts of the city. Each one of them has a specific objective that must be met in order to complete the challenge. Additionally, you can earn more rewards the faster you can complete a challenge.

Every challenge that you complete will also reward you with a Mysterium Dev Diary that provides more details as to what really happened with the Mysteriums.

Fight On Time

The Fight On Time Mysterium can be found in the northwest area of Chinatown. For this challenge, you will need to use finishers against six enemies in order to complete it. In its second phase, a clock tower will start firing a green laser that homes in on your position.

The trick to completing this challenge fast is to build your combo meter fast enough to charge your finisher. As soon as you get the prompt for a finisher, use it on your target right away. You will also need to be on top of your dodges, especially when dealing with the laser in the second phase.

These are the rewards for the Fight On Time Mysterium for each completion speed:

  • Gold (<3:30) – x2 Hero Tokens, 400 XP
  • Silver (<5:00) – x1 Hero Token, 300 XP
  • Bronze (>5:50) – x1 Hero Token, 200 XP

The Invisible Enemy

The Invisible Enemy Mysterium can be found in the north area of Midtown. For this challenge, you will need to use finishers against six enemies in order to complete it. After defeating three enemies, the second phase will begin where the enemies will become invisible.

The trick to completing this challenge fast is to build your combo meter fast enough to charge your finisher. As soon as you get the prompt for a finisher, use it on your target right away. In the second phase, enemies will still have their shadows appear on the ground from time to time, allowing you to figure out where they are at. Additionally, your Spidey Sense will still work against ranged enemy fire.

These are the rewards for The Invisible Enemy Mysterium for each completion speed:

  • Gold (<2:10) – x2 Hero Tokens, 400 XP

Everyone’s A Critic Mysterium

The Everyone’s a Critic Mysterium can be found in the west area of Central Park. In this challenge, you will need to defeat thirty enemies in order to clear it. In its second phase, Mysterio’s fist will start popping up from the ground and you will need to avoid it.

The enemies in this challenge can pop in and out of their positions, so getting to them as quick as possible and locking them into a stagger will help. Also, a fast way to take advantage of Mysterio’s fist is to round up the enemies in the area, then jumping away from the spot just as soon as the fist pops out. All of the enemies hit by the fist will still count towards the objective.

These are the rewards for the Everyone’s A Critic Mysterium for each completion speed:

  • Gold (<1:45) – x2 Hero Tokens, 400 XP
  • Silver (<2:15) – x1 Hero Token, 300 XP

In its second phase, enemies will gain an immunity shield that can only be dispelled by defeating the fake Mysterio that appears in the arena.

The trick to completing this challenge fast is just to focus on the fake Mysterio as soon as he pops out. • Gold (<2:15) – x2 Hero Tokens, 400 XP

There will be minor enemies that will add up to the challenge, plus a ghost train that will show up and run through the arena every now and then.

To finish this challenge quickly, keep focusing on the brute and use your crowd control abilities to deal with the weaker enemies when they get close. You can also lure the brutes to get on top of a train track so that the can get run over by the train.

To clear this challenge quickly, stay in the center of the arena and take advantage of the items that you can throw to the enemies. Another effective way to deal with the enemies quickly is to launch them into the air and kick them away from the arena platforms; as long as they don’t fall into solid ground, they are as good as dead.

These are the rewards for the Under Construction Mysterium for each completion speed:

  • Gold (<1:00) – x2 Hero Tokens, 400 XP

For an additional challenge, you will be rewarded more the less hits you take. There will also be traffic that will run across the arena that you will have to avoid.

Focus on getting the ranged enemies that provide cover fire first as they can get too annoying if you’re gunning for a no-hit clear. Once they’re dealt with, you can then use your finishers or abilities to clear the melee enemies on the ground until the next wave of ranged enemies appear.

These are the rewards for the Road Rage Mysterium for each completion goal:

  • Gold (0 hit) – x2 Hero Tokens, 400 XP
  • Silver (<3 hits) – x1 Hero Token, 300 XP
  • Bronze (>3 hits) – x1 Hero Token, 200 XP

Focus on dealing with Mysterio first, then defeat the ranged attackers, followed by the melee attackers. Do this tactic for all three waves to lessen your risk of getting hit.

These are the rewards for the Grave Decision Mysterium for each completion goal:

  • Gold (0 hit) – x2 Hero Tokens, 400 XP
  • Silver (<3 hits) – x1 Hero Token, 300 XP
  • Bronze (>3 hits) – x1 Hero Token, 200 XP

Fear Of Heights Mysterium

The Fear Of Heights Mysterium can be found in the northeast area of Downtown Brooklyn. To clear this challenge, you will need to throw off fifteen enemies into the void. In the second phase, Mysterio’s skulls will fly into the arena and home in on your position.

The trick to clear this challenge quickly is to target the smaller enemies and use the swing kick to knock them off the platforms. Avoid kicking the brutes as they are immune from getting launched and they can also do a counterattack; brutes can be launched by powerful abilities instead. You can deal with the skulls by grabbing them and throwing them back to the enemies.

These are the rewards for the Fear of Heights Mysterium for each completion speed:

  • Gold (<1:30) – x2 Hero Tokens, 400 XP
  • Silver (<2:15) – x1 Hero Token, 300 XP
  • Bronze (>2:15) – x1 Hero Token, 200 XP

Grand Finale Mysterium

The Grand Finale Mysterium can be found at Coney Island once all the other nine Mysteriums have been cleared and you get the call from Quentin Beck. You will be fighting against Mysterio himself as he puts you in his illusionary world.

During the first phase of the fight, you will need fight against Mysterio and knock him out until he retreats and sends out his minions. Clear all the minions out to proceed to the next phase.

In the second phase, you will be chasing down Mysterio through the inverted skylines. Buildings will appear in the path ahead and lasers will shoot out from them. Try to keep up with Mysterio throughout the chase and pay attention to the runes where the lasers will be shooting out from to easily avoid getting hit.

After catching up to Mysterio, you will be sent back to the room where you see an image of the real Quentin Beck calling out for help.

You will then get sent back into the snow globe arena where you get to face against fake Mysterio in another one-one-one fight. This time, he gets a health bar on top of the screen. Mysterio also unleashes his powerful attacks such as the laser beam and the large floating skulls. Once his health is down to 50%, he will explode and you will be sent back into the Mysterium.

Follow the end of the path to find that you are still within the illusion and fake Mysterio has now split himself up into his clones. He also gets a new attack where he explodes and sends out a shockwave that can knock you down. Every clone that you defeat will knock out a part of his health bar.

Once the final clone has been defeated, Mysterio will then move on to his grand attack and use the Ferris Wheel to shoot out laser beams from. Make your way to the wheel while avoiding the lasers, then land your final blows on to Mysterio to finally defeat him.

You’ll then be sent back to reality. Find the panel wall that you can break to access the control room where Beck’s associates are. It will then be revealed that everything has been planned by Beck’s associates against his will. After clearing the cutscene, you will be rewarded with 2,000 XP, x4 Hero Tokens, and x500 Tech Parts, plus you will unlock the Smoke and Mirrors Suit.
