Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has scored a lot of praise and recognition as being one of Insomniac’s fastest-selling PS games in history. With all the lores, theories, and what to expect on the future of Marvel’s Spider-Man, developers have confirmed a recent rumor that has sparked the interests of many Spidey fans and that is Miles Morales becoming the main hero of the series.

At the end of Spider-Man 2, players will see Peter Parker finally embracing his future by becoming a full-time scientist and wanting to live a normal life with Mary Jane. As such, he decides to go on semi-retirement and gives the mantle of being Spider-Man to Miles Morales.
In a recent interview with Gizmodo, Insomniac narrative director Ben Arfmann and advanced writer Brittney Morris were asked about the ending of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which clearly shows the passing of the torch from Peter Parker to Miles.
According to Morris, “It always felt very natural, and I think we all collectively thought it would happen. To me, it shows a great deal of evolution from Miles; at the beginning of the game, we see him struggling to figure out what he wants to do with his life. By the end, we had Miles carrying the burden of saving the city, and also carrying Pete when Pete wasn’t strong enough to carry himself at various points.
That’s what’s been so cool about writing a story about two Spider-Men: they’re both strong, and one of them can be strong when the other is not. By the end, Miles is more confident and he’s like, ‘Yeah, I got this. How much worse can things get after what we just went through?”
From what I gathered from this statement, there is huge speculation that Miles will be focused as the main hero of the series for future titles and there have been rumors that there will be another Miles Morales Spin-off alongside a potential Venom spin-off. Plus, it has been confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine is set in the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man games and there will be a Marvel’s Spider-Man 3.
One theory that can happen when Spider-Man 3 comes out is that Peter will come out of retirement and will suit up once more as Spider-Man. No new info on what could happen except the fact that we may see the debut of Green Goblin and the return of Doctor Octopus. There is a chance for them to use the 3rd game as an idea to integrate one of Marvel’s most controversial story arcs, the Death of Spider-Man.
