A new report claims that the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine game developed by Insomnia will be targeting a mature rating.
Giant Bomb reporter Jeff Grubb recently hosted a live stream revealing details of Insomniac’s plans for the game that will have Wolverine as the main star.
Grubb claims that Insomniac is really targeting for Hard R rating. He thinks an M-rated Wolverine could work and he is just the right character for the job. An M-rated game with him as the focus would be the perfect fit.
The reporter also claims that this version of Wolverine will be standing on its own and not link with previous X-Men movies like the ones from Fox. He says that it will be set before he joins the famous group of mutants, which makes sense since that time is when he is the most violent.
Another rumor Grubb heard is the possible release window of the game. He claims that he heard two different dates for it with one of them as early as fall 2024, which he was doubtful of since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is planned to be released in fall 2023. The other release window is 2025.
Grubb though is confident that if anyone could pull off releasing two major games back to back, it would be Insomniac Games.
