Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios have revealed two more playable fighters in the upcoming video game Mortal Kombat 1 plus new Kameo characters.

Mortal Kombat 1 is a reborn Mortal Kombat universe that Fire God Liu Kang created after he won the previous tournament and defeated the ultimate enemy. This new game was announced a few months ago and is set to launch later in September 2023. A few characters have already been revealed together with some classic fighters that will join as Kameo fighters. NetherRealm did promise that more fighters will be added later and the latest Developer Update has delivered that exactly.

Mortal Kombat 1 Adds Two More Fighters

A new trailer was recently released called the “Official Lin Kuei Trailer”. It featured the Lin Kuei clan which the brothers Sub-Zero and Scorpion are the top leaders. For those who did not know, both of them are now siblings in this reality. The video included gameplay, fatalities, and two new playable characters that will join the roster: Smoke and Rain. Smoke is the third Lin Kuei member that got revealed while the others like Cyrax and Sektor have not been seen yet. Instead, their classic versions are shown as Kameo fighters. The lineup includes Sektor, Cyrax, Frost, and Scorpion.

    Smoke and Rain

Smoke uses a kunai in battle, imbued with the power of smoke. His familiar moveset and new ones were shown in the trailer. Rain will be part of the opposing side, possibly from the realm of Netherrealm. He still has his weather control abilities and mostly water powers.

This is just one of possibly many more videos that will reveal more fighters joining the roster.

Mortal Kombat 1 launches on September 14, 2023 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
