Mortal Kombat 1 Confirms Addition of Rumored ‘Hero’

A much-rumored ‘hero’ has been confirmed to join the Mortal Kombat 1 roster.

Homelander Joins Mortal Kombat 1 Roster

Homelander is one of the many troubled heroes in The Boys comic book and Amazon TV show series. He is a parody of DC’s Superman if he was unhinged, has tons of issues, and loves violence. Along with another hero, Omniman, both these fictional heroes have been rumored to join the latest upcoming video game Mortal Kombat 1 as playable guest fighters. Today, it has officially been confirmed.

The official TikTok account of The Boys called Vought International Studios confirmed that Homelander will be joining the roster as a DLC addition. There is no word yet on how Homelander would look in the game, but it will most likely be based on the live-action version rather than the comics version.

The Mortal Kombat franchise is known for its guest characters joining the roster so Homelander joining is no surprise anymore. Still, it would be fun to see how he would fare against the proud warriors of Mortal Kombat.

Scorpion is Voiced by Jin Sakai?!

Aside from Homelander, another report has confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima’s Daisuke Tsuji will be playing Scorpion in the game. This was confirmed in a Twitter exchange between Tsuji and fellow voice actor Yuri Lowenthal.

    …there’s Fire! https://t.co/KjY0m35wPf

Lowenthal, known for his role as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man in Marvel’s Spider-Man series, shared their little exchange. He started with “Where there’s smoke…” referring to the recently revealed Smoke, Tsuji then replied, “… there’s Fire!” which meant Scorpion, seemingly confirming that it was him voicing the powerful fighter.

NetherRealm Studios has not denied or confirmed this yet, but there is a big chance that Tsuji is the one voicing Scorpion with the big similarities in his voice.

Mortal Kombat 1 launches on September 19, 2023 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
