Nitara is a playable character in Mortal Kombat 1 and she’s being voiced by Megan Fox. Warner Bros. Games and Netherlands studios recently announced the actress new role in the upcoming and latest Mortal Kombat game to date. But just who is Nitara and why did they pick Megan Fox?

Mortal Kombat is casting Megan Fox as its latest character addition Nitara. It’s not the first time Megan portrayed a figure with demonic powers if Jennifer’s Body is anything to go by. However she’s an interesting choice to be the voice and likeness of Nitara who is going to be an addition to the roster of upcoming Mortal Kombat 1.
It turns out that Megan Fox grew up playing Mortal Kombat and is very excited at the prospect of playing one of its returning characters. She noted that being casted as Mortal Kombat 1’s Nitara has forced her to tap into uncomfortable aspects about herself however it’s allowed her to be more free.
Who Is Nitara in Mortal Kombat 1?
Nitara hails from the dark, desolate realm of Vaeternus introduced in Mortal Kombat 1. Megan describes her character as a vampire that she personally resonates with. According to Fox, Nitara’s goal is to save her people even if she’s portrayed as one of the more evil characters.
Nitara is a fighter who primarily uses her razor sharp fangs, ferocious claws, and aerial abilities to take down anyone who gets in her way. Nitara was first introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance whose goal is to look for an orb that ties the Outerworld and the realm of vampires together. However she unable to cross the molten magma protecting it
Megan Fox is definitely a perfect fit to play Mortal Kombat 1’s Nitara due to her previous role as the titular character in Jennifer’s Body. In her gameplay trailer, Kung Lao even asks Nitara what she did with Jen’s body with the vampire taunting him that he’ll never see her again.
This isn’t the first time Megan Fox has done voice acting work. She did voice her character from the movies, Mikaela, in Transformers: The Game and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Megan also did a cameo on Robot Chicken portraying herself and even Lois Lane. Being casted as Nitara in Mortal Kombat 1 might be one of the most popular roles Megan Fox will play in video games.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Megan do anything big. Her being casted as Nitara in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 might be what she needs to be placed back into the spotlight.
