New details about the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 game have been released, including information about premium content.
With the big announcement of the full reboot Mortal Kombat 1, new information about the game has now dropped. According to the official website, there will be three versions of the game which are Standard Edition ($69.99), Premium Edition ($109.99), and the Kollector’s Edition ($249.99). The second one, the Premium Edition includes a particular Kombat Pack which also has a certain skin that is quite surprising for an addition that no one had predicted.
On the website, the Kombat Pack included in the Premium Edition has a skin for the popular Earth Realm fighter Johnny Cage. Interestingly enough, the skin is based on a famous action start from the late ’80s to the ‘90s, Jean-Claude Van Damme. To put an icing on this, this skin will be available right away at launch so fans of the actor will get the chance to play him on day one.
Why Van Damme though? In the early days of Mortal Kombat, it was revealed that Johnny Cage was actually inspired by him in the 1988 film Bloodsport. It seems co-creator Ed Boon has some wild ideas for this full reboot and one of them would be this awesome skin.
Mortal Kombat 1 launches on September 14, 2023 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
