Player First Games has officially announced that it will shut down the MultiVersus Open Beta in a couple of months.
MultiVersus Open Beta Shuts Down Permanently
The game developers, Player First Games, has recently posted on the MultiVersus Twitter account that the Open Beta version will now shut down totally on June 25, 2023. They have thanked the fans for their continuing support and promise to incorporate all of their feedback into the upcoming full launch which is happening sometime in early 2024. It promises to have new content, features, modes, and more when the game returns to its full form.
Some Notes To Check Out
There are a few things to note though after shutting down the game. MultiVersus will be removed from all digital storefronts and unavailable for download starting on April 4, 2024. It will be playable, yes, but only limited to training room and local matches. All of the previously earned or purchased characters and cosmetic items will be available to access. After April 4, 2024, it will be difficult to download the game as a fresh install.
Many fans are disappointed to see the game go, but some say it is a bold approach and most likely the correct one. Some are even surprised that this was an open beta version of the game.
MultiVersus is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
