Sony Interactive Entertainment has recently announced a new PlayStation website that would focus more on accessibility, which can be helpful for players who are differently abled.
Xbox had already released new custom controllers that were made especially for people with disabilities and unfortunately PlayStation did not have any counterattack for this. Well, for a short while that is because just recently the company has now made a new website focusing only on accessibility features for the PS4 and PS5.
This new website helps out players maximize their customization with both PlayStation consoles, accessories, and first party games. This gives them choices for the different accessibility options with specific instructions on how to use them. They even added instructional videos and images to specify where to activate these accessibility options on the console menu.
There are about 12 exclusive games that they highlight here with links to instructions on how to change the accessibility options like on The Last of Us Part 2, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Death Stranding, and more. Players can change features like audio, closed captions, screen size, brightness, and more.
At least SIE is finally offering a collection of helpful guides for players with disabilities. This website is very handy for those who want to find those features in just one place. Is this a sign that PlayStation will finally make a controller that would become the rival of Xbox’s Adaptive controllers? No idea, but it is a good step forward.
