An announcement has revealed that a new MMORPG The Lord of the Rings will be in development by Amazon Games.
Amazon Games and Embracer Group have recently announced that it has reached an agreement with Middle-earth Enterprises, part of the operative group Freemode, to develop and publish a new massively multiplayer online (MMO) game based on The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.
This upcoming MMORPG will be in a world set in Middle-earth featuring the stories of The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings literary trilogy. This is now in its early stages of production with Amazon Games Orange County leading the development. These guys were the ones behind the open-world MMORPG New World.
This upcoming new MMORPG The Lord of the Rings will be published globally for PC and consoles. More details like launch timing will be shared at a later date.
