One Piece Odyssey offers a unique lineup of features that made itself known to many JRPG players like myself. Among the features that piqued the interest of many fans is the Battle Skills. This guide will let players know more about this feature and what to expect further as they explore more profoundly, so read on.

What are Battle Skills in One Piece Odyssey?

There are two types of skills that players can use in the game. One is called “Field Skills,” which can only be used in an environment that indicates that a Field Skill can be used at a particular location. The 2nd skill that can be used only in combat is Battle Skills.

What Are Battle Skills - One Piece Odyssey

Battle Skills can only be used during combat, and each character in the game has a different set of skills to either deal damage to numerous or single enemies or heal and buff allies to stay solid and alive.

How to Use Battle Skills in One Piece Odyssey

During c, there are two types of gauges. One is the HP gauge, and the other is called TP, or Tension Points which act like MP, or mana points.

How To Use Battle Skills - One Piece Odyssey

Once a battle has begun, use the right button on the D-pad to open up the skills that a character has unlocked. Select one of the skills displayed using the up and down buttons. Afterward, use the X button to confirm the skill, and it will be used on your enemy or your allies.

The Tension Points play a significant role. It is the energy or stamina used for using the skills of the characters in the battle and can be instantly recharged by either making normal attacks, defeating enemies, or using health items.

How To Upgrade All Battle Skills

To upgrade a battle skill, players will need to look for cube fragments found in different parts of the map. Some cubes can be obtained through battles, especially against sub and main bosses. Do note that each fragment is designated for each individual and will only work to upgrade that character’s abilities and no one else’s. Once they collect a character’s fragment, they need to open the menu and head straight to character skills to choose which skill to be upgraded.
