Phil Spencer Smoothly Takes a Jab at PlayStation’s PC Strategy

Several icons of game company Microsoft have recently shared some insight about its ambition to reach billions of gamers worldwide and one of them is Xbox Boss Phil Spencer. He then smoothly and quietly makes a “small” comment about a certain company’s PC port strategy.

We all know that it’s Sony Interactive Company since there is no other game company recently porting their games to PC these days.

Spencer begins with sharing what they are offering right now, which is “putting out more top quality games in front of more people than other companies.” Nintendo is focused on their Switch consoles and possibly their upcoming “new” version while the rival is doing the same but focused on exclusivity. Until now.

“Across the Xbox ecosystem, we’re now reaching hundreds of millions of people every month, and our total addressable market is going to grow, while others are relatively static,” Spencer confidently states, which is true. “As the Xbox ecosystem grows in both content and total size, it becomes more valuable to both players and our partners.”

This is where Spencer silently criticizes the “rival” that stayed static previously, but has started to move, only for a bit.

So right now, we are the only platform shipping games on console, PC and cloud simultaneously. Others bring console games to PC years later, not only making people buy their hardware upfront, but then charging them a second time to play on PC.

And of course, all of our games are in our subscription service day one, full cross-platform included.

This is pure truth though since Xbox offers their games on consoles and PC at the same time. Why wait for years instead of playing them right at this moment?
