Game company Sony Interactive Entertainment thinks the web browser is unnecessary and has no plans to add it to the PlayStation 5.
According to the translated interview of AV Watch with SIE Senior Vice President Hideaki Nishino, the game company has no plans to add web browser to the PS5. According to him, they doubt that the application is necessary for a game console, but he does it that they will have to wait and see.
There have been many reports that the web browser app on the PS4 is slow, hard-to-use, and usually used only for confirming content from games that need it. With innovation, confirmation will not need to transfer to a web browser just to access the confirm button. Some players are just even using it to watch porn sites for the fun of it.
PlayStation 5 launches soon on November 12 in the US, Japan, and select few countries. Everyone else around the world will get it on November 19.
