Get ready all you Pokémon GO trainers out there as the season of mischief and spookiness is about to come upon us as Niantic gives details to its Halloween event.
The event will kick off this week on Friday, October 15. The event will have two parts: Creepy Companions and Ghoulish Pals. The events will last from Friday, October 15, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, October 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time and Friday, October 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, October 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time respectively. For the entire event, everyone will be able to get the following bonuses:
- 2× Transfer Candy
- 2× Catch Candy
- 2× Hatch Candy
- Guaranteed Candy XL when walking with your buddy
During the night there will also be a remix of the iconic Lavender Town music. There will be Costumed Pokémon available to encounter and some rare Shiny ones if you’re lucky.
The first part of the event, Creepy Companions, will be centered around encountering and befriending ‘creepy Pokémon’ like Psychic-types and Poison-types. The event will also mark the debut of Galarian Slowking, the Hexpert Pokémon, and Shiny Spinarak.
The second part, Ghoulish Pals, will have more ghost-type Pokémons come out to play. It will also mark the Pokémon Go debuts of Pumpkaboo and Phantump as well as their evolved forms, Gourgeist and Trevenant respectively. It is also noteworthy that Pumpkaboo will have varying sizes and when it evolves into a Gourgeist the size will also vary depending on how big your Pumpkaboo was. There will also be a Collection Challenge that will encourage trainers to go out and look for these Ghost-type Pokémon.
Pokémon GO will also be hosting a Halloween Mischief Special Raid Weekend which will last from Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, October 31, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time. The raid celebrates the Halloween weekend and the introduction of Mega Absol in Mega Raids. Mega Absol and Darkrai will appear more frequently in raids during this special raid weekend.
More details of the event can be found here on Pokémon GO’s website.
