The Pokémon Company has announced the official Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask Expansion release date.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask Expansion Release Date
The recent August Pokémon Presents event has officially revealed the release date for the upcoming new expansion for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask. It will be available on September 13, 2023, which is next month.
New Characters to Interact, New Pokémon to Encounter
The Teal Mask trailer shows the protagonist interacting with two new characters, which are revealed to be Carmine and Kieran. There are also new Pokémon that will be added with this new expansion that is featured in the video. Later in the clip, it teased a scary old folk tale quest that seems to take inspiration from a previous game, Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
This quest will be the center of the new DLC, which tells the story of a Pokémon that saved the land from an evil ogre. Players will be visiting the Festival of Masks to celebrate the myth and will be encountering these ancient Pokémon as the story goes on.
New Minigame, Selfie-Stick, and More
A new minigame will allow players to compete for high scores and unlock upgrades for the journey. A selfie-stick will also be made available with the expansion.
The Indigo Disk Expansion Details
There is also The Indigo Disk, the next expansion that will be released later this year. It revealed the Blueberry Academy director Cyrano welcoming the player to a newly built school that is mostly under water. There will new areas to explore and Pokémon to meet. The academy is also run by the BB League which has its own Elite Four namely Lacey, Crispin, Amarys, and Drayton.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are now available exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
