A Reddit user was able to spot an ad that may tease Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2 is coming to PlayStation Plus, according to the report by VGC. Aside from the Sony first-party title, the ad also shows Hogwarts Legacy and Horizon: Forbidden West.
While this is merely a promotional image of PlayStation Plus Deluxe (the Asia equivalent to the US PS Plus Premium), the suggestive image can also mean that these big heavy hitters may come to Sony’s subscription service really soon. It’s worth noting that Horizon: Forbidden West, first launched in 2020, was added to PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium earlier this year.
Earlier last week, it was revealed that Naughty Dog might be working on a remastered version of The Last of Us Part 2. The latest evidence was spotted on a Naughty Dog employee’s LinkedIn profile, as spotted by Insider Gaming. Much like the first The Last of Us game on PS3 getting a remastered version on the PS4, it’s not impossible that The Last of Us Part 2 might get that same treatment. However, leaks like this should be treated with a grain of salt.
So, will we expect The Last of Us Part 2 to be a part of the PS Plus games catalog? Sure, it would not hurt Sony’s sales, but it would be a great marketing push to promote the unannounced and unconfirmed The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.
In our review of The Last of Us Part II, Jarren considered it “daring” and that the game will “keep you on your toes and in suspense, wondering what happens next.”
The Last of Us Part 2 is now available on PS4.
