Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan is confident that the PlayStation 5 will be able to sell more units in its first fiscal year.
Ryan talked with Korean game press N Sports about SIE having high hopes with the PS5. They want it to surpass the PlayStation 4’s early success, which is a really difficult goal to achieve since it was really popular when it came out.
SIE is reportedly producing around 15 million PS5 units by the end of the fiscal year. They are actually expecting a really high demand of the upcoming next-gen console units, which would make the big investment work. Also the day one demand is so high that pre-orders are gone in just a few hours, so it could definitely mean more units will be sold this fiscal year.
PS5 will launch on Nov. 12 for North America, Japan, and other select countries. The rest of the world will get it on Nov. 19.
