Sony has quietly updated the terms of the PS5 free game offer and it is unfortunately bad news.
The original promotion first appeared last month, offering new PS5 users in the US one free game from a list that they can choose from. According to the terms of the offer, it was “valid only in the U.S. for eligible PSN account holders who are at least 18 years of age and purchase and activate a new PS5 console by October 20, 2023 @ 23:59pm (PDT)”.
Today, some social media users spotted some changes to the terms of the promotion. Sony has now updated the terms and clarified that it will only be by invitation. This meant it would not be available to all anymore.
Players who got invited will be able to choose one of the following 12 games, which can be redeemed by the same date and time mentioned in the original promo.
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered
- God of War Ragnarök
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
- Demon’s Souls
- The Last of Us Part I
- Sackboy: A Big Adventure
- Returnal
- Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
- Death Stranding: Director’s Cut
