N’Erud is one of the worlds that players can visit in Remnant 2. It is a megastructure created by the Drzyr to aid them in their search to find other sentient life across the galaxy. After discovering the Seat of Creation in the center of a massive black hole and heading right towards it believing that they’d get answers, the N’Erud has become a decrepit structure, with most of its inhabitants either dead or having transformed into monstrous creatures.

Read ahead as we talk about N’Erud and how to progress through it in Remnant 2.

    Remnant 2 N’Erud Walkthrough

N’Erud can be one of three worlds that you can visit throughout a campaign, but the order that you can visit these worlds will be random in every campaign run. In this world, the quests, encounters, events, and mini dungeons will also be random in every run, including the enemies and mini bosses.

There are two main storylines in N’Erud that you can play through, and you’ll know which one you’ll be playing by your starting point:

    • Travel to Alepsis-Taura – Starting location is Seeker’s Rest.
    • Tal Ratha and the Shining Essence Echo – Starting location is the Forgotten Prison.

Completing any of the storylines in a run by defeating their respective final bosses will reward you with the Index Segment which is the key item of the overarching campaign.

    Travel to Alepsis-Taura Storyline

    Seeker’s Rest

    Seeker's Rest, Alepsis-Taura Storyline - Remnant 2 N'Erud Guide

As you arrive in Seeker’s Rest, you will find a room with a high statue and on it is the Seeker’s Key.

    The Custodian

    The Custodian, Alepsis-Taura Storyline - Remnant 2 N'Erud Guide

Make your way to the next area where you will find a crystal chamber with a mechanical eye inside. It will talk to you in disbelef of your existence and asks you to look for its tower so that it can talk to you personally. You can find the tower by looking at one that has a glowing white orb at the very top of it.

Follow the path up ahead until you reach the Phantom Wasteland. Here, you will be able to see the tower you are supposed to go to. More enemies will also start to spawn on your path.

You can also meet up with The Custodian at the Ascension Spire who asks for your help to gather the Seeker’s Keys and gain access to the Core of N’Erud in order to save the Drzyr.

    Seeker’s Keys

    Seeker's Keys, Alepsis-Taura Storyline - Remnant 2 N'Erud Guide

You have already found the first Seeker’s Key and the next ones can be found within two random dungeons within N’Erud. The first one will be one of the dungeons within the Phantom Wasteland, while the second one is within the Timeless Horizon. In both dungeons, you will have to fight their respective bosses to unlock the paths that lead to the statues holding the keys.

    Sentinel's Keep, Alepsis-Taura Storyline - Remnant 2 N'Erud Guide

Once you have obtained all thre keys, you can travel to the Sentinel’s Keep and ride the elevator up. Once you reach the very top, interact with the terminal to start a boss fight.

    Sha’Hala: Spectral Guardian of N’Erud

You will be up against Sha’Hala which has two phases. In the first phase, concentrate on dishing damage to its orb which is its weakspot, then on the second phase, be on the defensive and focus on dodging its attacks until it does its special move when it becomes open. After defeating it, you will receive an Eidolon Shard and an Index Segment.

    Alepsis-Taura

Head back to The Custodian to receive additional rewards. The Custodian will then do what it must which is to drive N’Erud into the black hole. You can then visit Alepsis-Taura and get the Void Heart relic, but after doing so, you can no longer revisit N’Erud until your next playthrough/re-roll.

Tal Ratha and the Shining Essence Echo Storyline

Tal Ratha and the Shining Essence Echo Storyline - Remnant 2 N'Erud Guide

As you arrive in the Forgotten Prison, you will be greeted by a voice behind a chamber. This voice will then ask you to help it retrieve Soul Spark Cylinder in order to save its kind, the Drzyr.

After accepting the quest, head outside to the Abyssal Rift, then make your way to the Ascencion Spire where you will meet with The Custodian. It will reveal more about the Astropath named Tal’Ratha who once warned the Drzyr to not go into the black hole Alepsis-Taura. It will also ask you to instead kill Tal’Ratha to retrieve what’s known as the Shining Essence Echo in order for it to send N’Erud into the black hole.

Tal Ratha and the Shining Essence Echo Storyline 2 - Remnant 2 N'Erud Guide

You can then search for the Soul Spark Cylinder out in the next area, and once you find it, head back to the Forgotten Prison. Once you talk to the voice once again, it will reveal itself as Tal’Ratha. It will also tell you that following The Custodian is wrong and that going into the Alepsis-Taura was the reason why N’Erud is defunct in the first place. Tal’Ratha then offers you two options: to be eaten and saved for eternity, or to refuse and face its wrath.

Whichever option you choose will have you fight against Tal’Ratha, with the sole difference of which of its variant you will face:

    • Not eaten: Tal’Ratha
    • Eaten: Fight against Tal’Ratha (Metaphysical)
Tal Ratha and the Shining Essence Echo Storyline 3 - Remnant 2 N'Erud Guide

Tal’Ratha in its physical form recsembles an amphibian-like creature with a huge maw. It can attack by either charging at you or shooting projectiles at you from a distance. Defeating it will reward you with the Spice Bile.

Tal Ratha and the Shining Essence Echo Storyline - Remnant 2 N'Erud Guide

Tal’Ratha (Metaphysical) has ranged AoE attacks that rain from the void and it also can teleport and reposition in different locations between its attacks. Defeating it will reward you with the Acidic Jawbone.

After defeating either boss, you will then receive the Shining Essence Echo and an Index Segment. Bring the echo over to The Custodian and you will have another option to make:

    • Give the echo: The Custodian will give you the Siphon Heart relic.
    • Keep the echo: You can use the echo at the Drzyr Replicator to receive the Void Idol amulet.

After completing either of the storylines, you can head back to The Labyrinth and talk to The Keeper to get your quest objectives updated accordingly.
