Game developer Gunfire Games recently announced that video game Remnant: From the Ashes can now be upgraded to the next-gen versions for free.

    Remnant: From the Ashes

Players who own the current-gen console versions of the game can now upgrade it with the major free upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It will be available on May 13 at 7 AM PT and can be accessed by Xbox and PlayStation storefronts.

Aside from that, the game can now be purchased via Microsoft Store App and the Xbox App for Windows 10. They can also access it as a part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC program. Each will have cross-play support with Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S players.

The upgrade offers features like 4K resolution at 30fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X, and achieve 60fps at 1080p resolution on the same consoles. The new patch also improves loading times so players can explore the game’s universe faster than before.

Remnant: From the Ashes is a third-person survival action shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monstrous creatures. As one of the last remnants of humanity, you set out alone or alongside up to two other players to face down hordes of deadly enemies and epic bosses, and try to carve a foothold, rebuild, and then retake what was lost.

Remnant: From the Ashes is available digitally for $39.99 on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The physical version is also available now at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, among other retailers for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for $39.99.
