Microsoft has announced that their new and upgraded version that supports 4K of Xbox One, named Project Scorpio, will be out by 2017. It seems that reports states PS4.5 or PS4 Neo will launch later this year. With this said, we might be able to get a look at the new mid-generation refresh of Sony’s successful PS4 unit at the upcoming gaming events that will happen this year.
However, Scorpio is now believed to be the most powerful console to date when it releases. Phil Spencer, head of Xbox’s development team, said that Scorpio will have 6 teraflops in performance and scheduled to be released holiday of 2017. There are no prices announced by the major console makers yet. Both Neo and Scorpio will support the released games. It’s also good to note that there will be no Neo and Scorpio exclusives.

Our thoughts: We do agree what Phil Spencer said at their E3 press conference. If you do have a 4K TV or monitor then it’s definitely an option to get their new mid-generation Xbox One. If you’re only planning to stay on 1080p then it’s better off to just stick with your current console. Hopefully it will be the same thing for PS4 Neo.
