A new addition was sighted on the Steam page of popular survival horror Resident Evil 2 Remake after the reveal of another classic from the popular game series.
Resident Evil 2 to get a new update
It was revealed that upcoming remake Resident Evil 3 was supposed to be part of a package with the second part of the series, but the games were split and RE3 got delayed instead. Now the second title will be updated to acknowledge the existence of the third title with this new addition of a Steam achievement on the page of the game.
There is a new achievement called Chasing Jill, which features the description Read a letter left behind by Jill. Jill Valentine is the main character in RE3, which takes place at least partially alongside the same timeline as RE2. There is one point in RE3 where Jill enters the same police station that Leon is in, but they do not cross paths.
It is currently unknown when the small update will launch, but it should be soon since the achievement has already shown up on Steam. It is also unknown if the achievement will be added to the console versions.
RE2 Remake surpasses original’s sales
In other related news, RE2 Remake has just surpassed the sales of its original version. While the original got 4.96 million sales, the remake got over five million units. The remake launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in January 2019. The original launched on PlayStation way back in January 1998.
