Resident Evil 4 Remake Critical Progress Bug Discovered by CAPCOM

CAPCOM has recently posted a warning online about its discovery of a Resident Evil 4 Remake critical progress bug.

The development team warned Resident Evil 4 Remake players today on the franchise’s official Twitter account that they have discovered a rare but critical progress bug in the game. This happened when protagonist Leon S. Kennedy would obtain a specific key item after a cutscene at the start of Chapter 12.

CAPCOM advised players to refrain from attacking with the knife until the notification for obtaining the specific item is displayed in the upper right of the screen. The item should appear in the Key Items and Treasures menu in the attaché case. If it does not appear, players must reload the saved data before the start of Chapter 12. Players who fail to get the item will not be able to progress in the game and will get stuck.

CAPCOM confirms that the bug is present in all versions of the game and plans to develop a fix in a future update. After installing this upcoming update, players will be able to continue the game even with saved data where the error has previously occurred.
